Over the years of sharing techniques of natural eye correction, I have had quite a few common questions that arise. So as to save both my time and yours, I thought I would address them in a series of blog posts. Ready?

Today’s question is perhaps THE most common one: What should I do first? It’s the same question any beginner would have in any field. They are simply overwhelmed with this information they learned – they simply don’t know what to apply. This is why most courses – on anything on you can think of – does nothing for you.

To prevent that from happening, I’ve decided to share with you an important concept all successful business owners know: the 80/20 rule. The 80/20 rules states that in most cases, 20% of the cause is responsible for 80% of the results.

Think about it: the top 20% of the richest people commands 80% of the wealth. 20% of a business’s customers is responsible for 80% of their sales. 20% of a student’s studies are responsible for 80% of his knowledge. And so on and so forth.

The same is true for eye correction. 20% of all the techniques that you apply with be responsible for 80% of the results. This knowledge is great – it allows you to focus on that 20% to yield the most results, and thus making the best use of you time.

The question, of course, which eye exercises are in that 20% and which are not?

Here’s a short list that, in my opinion, you should focus on. Remember, this list is my experience only, they are certainly NOT conclusive. Do try them out.

Always follow that 10/1 rule. That is, rest your eyes for 1 minutes every 10 minutes of intense use. “Intense use” includes staring at the monitor/TV. This can be difficult to implement but once you establish it as a habit, it will get easy. Click here to read more about how improve your vision by resting your eyes.

Cut down the amount of time you wear your glasses. If at all possible, don’t use them. Of course, if you’re doing something dangerous, such as driving, please do wear them. Click here to find out more about how glasses prevents you from rebuilding your vision.

Do the eye exercises. They take only 30 minutes a day and are extremely powerful in helping your correct your eyesight.

Meditate daily. 10 minutes a day could do wonders both for your eyes and your life. Because the truth is, meditation relaxes you (including your eyes) and help you focus on what you really want. Click here to read more about the connection between your mind and your eyes.

That’s all! Isn’t that easy? Notice there’s no mention of vitamins and the like? Other than the program, there’s literally no cost for natural eye correction! And the best part, my recommended program comes with a 365-day guarantee.

There are 3 principles to natural vision improvement that Dr Bates discovered decades ago. If you want to naturally improve your vision, I think it’s crucial that you understand them. There are numerous eye exercises that you can do but it’s inevitable that sometimes you might interpret them wrongly. Understanding the principles behind them, I believe, would prevent this and hopefully, propel you forward instead of holding you back in your efforts to improve your vision.

The three principles are:

1. Movement. Here’s a little experiment that you can do. Look for people you know who have perfect vision. Would you say they are “active”, “squirmy” or “just couldn’t stay still”? They most probably are. Perfect vision requires movement because rigidity causes fatigue while movement promotes circulation!

2. Centralization. Have you ever tried to see everything at once? Back when I was in high school, I used to force myself to see everything in my surrounding since I thought that would give me an advantage in noticing someone is coming for the ball. My eyesight quickly deteriorated because diffusion causes strain and is unnatural. Our eyes are built for centralization, meaning we see only one small space at a time. Bates once said if you look at a chair, you should be seeing its back-rest, its legs and every other parts separately.

3. Relaxation. We have been educated to think that effort is always a good thing. So in out quest for perfect vision, we often place lots of effort into seeing something we cannot see – and therefore causing us to squint. Sight should be just like any other senses, they do not need effort on our part. If we tried to intervene, it will deteriorate rapidly. So try to relax and let your natural vision system to work. That’s what eye exercises allows you to do – take on a new habit to relax your eyes – and thus rebuild your vision.

Consciously take notice of your eyes right now. Is it moving or is it staying still?

If you’re myopic or farsighted, I can bet that it’s still. It’s passive. There’s little movement if any. Now, I want you to do a little “exercise” to see how your eyes really work.

I want you to close your eyes and lightly place your index and middle fingers on it. Just enough to feel your eyeballs, but not hard enough to press on them. Done it yet? After you place your fingers on your eyeballs, I want you to roll your eyes.

Look up, right, down, left and back up.

Notice how your eyes move there? It’s not smoothly rolling around the sockets. It’s jumping around. That movement is called peripheral movements. And peripheral movement is how our eyes are designed to see.

In my previous post, I talked about the link between our mind and our eyes. What you see goes into your brain (mind) and you think is really also what you see.

Now, there’s a way to make use of this link to your advantage. Many alternative eyesight improvement teachers teaches their students to palm and imagine an image that you like – or something that relaxes you. For example, a sunny beach or perhaps your baby.

Anything will do so as long as it makes you happy.

What this does is it also relaxes your eyes. And you can even take this concept further where you take off your glasses, look at a scenery (which will be blur) and then palm and imagine a clear version of it.

Repeat as many times as you want and your mind will slowly tell your eyes to see what you’ve imagined – the clear version.

Naturally, you can’t achieve results in one day… or even a week. This must be done continously and in addition to eye strengthening exercises and adopting good vision habits.

Naturally improving vision is one of those thorny issues. It’s true that you can do it, but it affects the people “at the top”.

You see, back in 2005, when I started to look for an alternative to glasses due to mockery, I find myself questioning the assumption I’ve always had.

The assumption that “myopia is genetic”. I was told that this is the case, and I’ve always taken it for granted.

I’ve never question its validity. What I found in my search for an alternative shocked me to my very core. I’ve never thought that naturally improving vision naturally is… not only is it possible, it’s actually quite painless.

The articles I read points out various contradictions such as

1. Don’t we get to decide whether natural vision improvement works or not? Why are “they” so worried to let us know it’s an option if it doesn’t even work?

2. If myopia is genetic, why are we encouraged to rest our eyes every so often?

3. If myopia is genetic, why do those same people say that carrots are good for our eyes?

If myopia is genetic, then there’s really nothing we should be doing to our eyes, other than cosmetic surgery… It’s like trying to change your nose – it’s genetic.

Do you get what I mean? The “myopia is genetic” argument is seriously flawed, yet nobody ever questions them.

So here’s what I am trying to tell you. I’m trying to tell you that there is a way to naturally improve your vision. And the way to do that, in my experience, are three parts:

1. Vision habits
2. Eye strengthening exercises
3. Vision Supplements

You see, I believe there’s a correct way of seeing. When you see the way nature intended, your eyes are at complete rest – which is the correct vision.

It’s like all of your other senses. You certainly don’t try to hear (you can’t even if you tried), you don’t try to taste, you don’t try to feel and you certainly don’t try smell.

You just sense whatever you sense.

But it’s not that way with your eyes, You have almost complete control of what you see. You can squint. You can focus on one thing or you can see the ‘whole picture”. You can blink anytime you want and you try not to blink.

The ability to control your eyes is crucial to the survival of the human species. Sight is our primary sense and sometimes you really need to keep your eyes peeled… like when you are facing a lion.

The problem comes when we abuse those abilities. Instead of using them for survival, we use them to stare at a box with moving pictures… for hours and hours. Then we stare at books and so on.

90% of our time we spend looking at things not further than a meter away from us.

And that creates a habit.

Let me ask you… If you were to pump iron 90% of your waking hours, what happens to your body? Your body adapts and build bigger muscles to overcome the “problem”. Well, when you spend your time 90% of your waking time staring at things no further than 2 meters from you, your eyes adapts itself to look at thing near to you… causing myopia.

And when you grow old, those muscles weakens… and suddenly your myopia improved, only to find yourself far sighted pretty soon.

Not ot mention those bad vision habits you picked up… not blinking, shallow breathing, American diet and so on. They all contribute to worsening eyesight,.. but that’s a whole other story.

So if you want to rebuild your vision, you’ll have to “tell” your body to adapt the way nature intended.

That’s vision habits… Eye strengthening exercises helps you pick up some habits while supplements speeds up the process.

I know it sounds easier said than done, but it’s completely possible if you stick to it. I’ve done it, and I’m sure you can too.

The sun might the key to improve your eyesight naturally but how many times have you heard that the sun is bad for you? Not only are you told that the sun causes melanoma (skin cancer), it also causes cataracts and a host of other diseases.

So did people do? They put on lots of sunscreen and wear their sunglasses every time they see a ray of sunlight. What happens then?

The number of these diseases, allegedly caused by sun, increases! In fact, the incidence of cataracts are expected to triple in the next half century. Now that’s strange. Why do you think it’s so?

It’s because “they”conveniently forgot to tell the other side of the coin. Lack of sun exposure is also detrimental your health! Moderate sun exposure is not only beneficial to your eyes, it’s also beneficial for you as a whole!

Sunlight a crucial ingredient for vitamin D synthesis. Depressed patients are also frequently asked to get more sun exposure. And according to John Ott, author of Health and Light and other scientists have revealed that for humans to be healthy, it’s important that we get adequate quality sunlight.

Guess where do we get the best quality sunlight? That’s right – the sun.

Bates, in his Better Eyesight Magazine, said, “An important part of the routine activities is the use of sunlight…” Then in his Perfect Sigh Without Glasses, he continues, “It is not light but darkness that is dangerous to the eye. Polonged exclusion from the light lowers the vision, and may produce serious inflammatory conditions.”

Convinced yet? Good.

So here’s the first step to improve your eyesight: Lose that sunglasses. I’m sure you don’t spend enough time under the sun as it is (depending on your skin color, daily exposure should be between 30 minutes – 1 hour, with darker color requiring longer exposure), wearing a sunglass will only worsen the shortage.

Once you’ve got rid of your sunglasses, you can do some “Closed Eyelid Sunning”. Here’s how it works.

Close your eyes and face the sun. Now, a word of warning, if it’s uncomfortable or the sun is just too strong then please don’t do it. As you face the sun, slowly swing your head left and right. Do this about 5 – 10 minutes a day and you’ll notice a big difference in your vision very soon. Don’t over do it though, because it will not benefit your eye.

Rebuilding your vision isn’t that hard right? If you have anything to say about my post, feel free to comment below!

Since this is my first post in this blog, I want to start from the most basic – and fundamental – concept is you desire to rebuild your vision naturally.

This is step 1. Anything that you do in your effort to rebuild your vision will be discounted if you don’t do this first.

What is it? Well, the very first thing you need to do is don’t wear your glasses! Or at least reduce the time you use it. Let me just caution you here: Though any reasonable person would have figured this out by themselves, I should still tell you to wear your glasses when you are driving or doing anything potentially dangerous!

You wouldn’t believe the number of people who, in their enthusiasm to rebuild their vision, totally got rid of their glasses and seriously injure themselves.

Ok, back to the point of this post. So why shouldn’t you wear glasses?

Why You Shouldn’t Wear Glasses

Simple: glasses strains your eyes. In the case of myopia, the reason you needed glasses is because you strained your eyes pretty bad. You acquired some bad vision habits (I’ll talk more about this so don’t forget to subscribe to my rss feeds) that led you constantly strain your eyes.

Now, I’m not going to discuss the effects of straining – all you need to know is that it’s BAD. As a result of constantly straining, your body adapts to the situation – and bam! You got yourself a chronically strained eyes – myopia.

It’s like when you exercise, your body adapts to the constant training and develop bigger muscles or better stamina. It’s the same thing here – except it yields bad results.

Glasses keep your eyes strained and in addition to your bad vision habits, your eyes continue to deteriorate. Do you get where I am going with this?

So unless you’re blind as a bat without your glasses, try not to wear it whenever possible. If your eyes so bad right now that you can’t live without your glasses, get a pair with lesser strength – doing this alone can halt deterioration of your vision.

This is step 1. In the coming days I’ll share some simple vision habits that has big effects on your vision. Stay tuned.
